Dubai Mounted Police Station Deploys 2,408 Security Patrols in 2022

Dubai, UAE: The Dubai Mounted Police Station deployed 2,408 security patrols and achieved a 100% participation rate in 37 festivals and community events in 2022. 

Major General Ahmed Muhammad Rafi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Administration Affairs, affirmed that Dubai Mounted Police Station has played a crucial role in bolstering the safety and security of community members and contributed to spreading peace among them. “Dubai Mounted Police have become an integral part of the patrol system of Dubai Police, specifically at tourist attractions, commercial areas, and residential neighbourhoods,” he said.

This came during the Station’s annual inspection visit, which was also attended by Brigadier Dr Adel Al Suwaidi, Director of Jebel Ali Police Station and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Police Stations; Colonel Bader Bousmara, Director of Corporate Assessment Department at the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering; Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Razaq Abdul Rahim, Head of the Inspection Department; Major Dahi Al Jallaf, Deputy Director of Dubai Mounted Police Station, along with several senior officers. 

Maj. Gen. Rafi praised Dubai Mounted Police Station’s commitment to applying the latest work systems and technologies in training trainers and horses and utilising the latest safety systems across the various departments and divisions of the station. 

2,408 Security Patrols

Maj. Gen. Rafi reviewed the performance indicators and statistics of the Police Operations Section that carried out daily patrols across the industrial, commercial, and tourist areas, which contributed to preventing crime and arresting suspects, and locating suspicious and abandoned vehicles. The Station conducted 2,408 security patrols in 2022.

37 Events 

He also received a briefing on the performance indicators and statistics of the Community Services Section, which achieved a 100% participation rate in 37 festivals and community events last year.  

Horse Training 

Maj. Gen. Rafi also reviewed the progress of work in the Administrative Services Section, which is responsible for veterinary and horse care. The Section consists of veterinarians and a team of nurses who provide exceptional horse care, treating their injuries, monitoring their health, and preventing diseases.

They also ensure the safety of the horses before deployment, preparing vaccination schedules and other preventive measures, which enhances their capacity and efficiency in various tasks. By providing top-notch care, the Section ensures the horses’ longevity of service.

Equine-Assisted Therapy 

During the meeting, Maj. Gen Rafi also received a briefing on the key initiatives implemented by the Dubai Mounted Police Station recently, including the therapeutic training program for people of determination. In 2022, the Station trained and provided equine-assisted therapy to 79 children for 27 days, with the participation of 109 volunteers.

Student Winter Camp

He also was briefed on the 7th annual Student Winter Camp organized by the Station, which aims to enhance the participants’ horse riding and equestrian skills. The camp also covered topics of horse care, health, and administering first aid. With the help of trainers, specialists, supervisors, and various equipment, the Station provided a comprehensive training program for 145 male and female students to learn and improve their horsemanship abilities.

166 Horses Gifted to the Public

In 2022, the Station also gifted 166 horses to the public who met specific requirements, including the ability to provide a suitable facility for horse care. This unique opportunity is available to any UAE citizen or resident who are willing to cover horse care expenses.

At the end of the inspection, Maj. Gen. Rafi was acquainted with the future projects of the Dubai Mounted Police Station.
