Dubai, UAE: Dubai Police, represented by the Missions and Recruitment Department of the General Department of Human Resources, in collaboration with the Universities and Colleges Council of the Dubai Police, has launched the second edition of the “Educating Your Children is a Shared Responsibility” initiative.

This scheme is aimed at the development and qualification of the children of Dubai Police employees by immersing them in various educational and practical programmes. As part of this initiative, a number of high school students have been sent by the Dubai Police to the International Kaplan Institute in Liverpool, United Kingdom, for a four-week advanced educational programme.

Captain Dr. Hamed Abdullah Murad, General Supervisor of the Universities and Colleges Council at Dubai Police, stated that the initiative achieves several goals.”The most prominent among them are supporting Dubai Police employees by focusing on developing their children’s skills and promoting happiness and institutional loyalty among employees,” he explained.

Captain Murad added that the first edition provided developmental lessons and life skills for the employees’ children through programs delivered online. This gave the students a wealth of scientific knowledge in specialized fields and languages. The second edition, he added, is designed based on the needs that will contribute to directing the upcoming generation towards future jobs. It includes an advanced educational programme at the International Kaplan Institute in Liverpool, UK, focusing on mathematics and language sciences.

Captain Murad explained that the choice of subjects and programmes is based on a survey conducted among the children of Dubai Police employees. The results demonstrated the students’ desired areas of skill and capability development.

“The inclusion of students in determining these needs is crucial in designing and selecting the appropriate programmes for them,” he continued.

Captain Murad further affirmed that the initiative greatly contributes to raising the participants’ awareness of their strengths and weaknesses, familiarising them with various future trends and specialities, and future job opportunities.
