Dubai, UAE: Upholding their commitment to continuous professional development, Dubai Police celebrated the graduation of the 73rd and 74th batches of their Emergency First Response course, an initiative that is integral to their rigorous training programme.
Major General Dr. Saleh Abdullah Murad, Director of the General Department of Human Resources at Dubai Police, witnessed the graduation ceremony in the presence of Brigadier Misbah Al Ghafli, Acting Director of the General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergency, and Brigadier Dr Sultan Abdul Hamid Al Jamal, Acting Director of Dubai Police Academy, along with course trainers and participants.
Maj.Gen. Murad emphasised that the Dubai Police is keen to enhance the skills and efficiency of its human resources in various scientific and practical fields.
“This is achieved through specialised field training that equips officers to perform their duties competently. This training is supplemented with scientific lectures and educational programmes that allow officers to engage with the public in a way that reflects positively on the world-class reputation of Dubai Police,” he said.
Addressing the graduates, Maj.Gen. Murad urged them to apply what they have learned during the course in their professional lives, highlighting the importance of their roles. He stressed that their work requires vigilance, commitment, a high sense of security, and the ability to handle any emergencies.
Brigadier Misbah Al Ghafli noted that the response course covered several practical and theoretical aspects, including shooting skills, weapon usage, shooting positions and sheltering during vehicle movement, raiding, handling explosives, tactical first aid, night raids and shootings, as well as procedures for intercepting dangerous vehicles and dealing with suspects.
