Abu Dhab, UAE – Abu Dhabi has achieved the top spot in the region for hosting the highest number of in-person meetings organized by international associations in 2022, as per the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) report. With over 35 meetings hosted, Abu Dhabi solidified its status as a premier destination for major international events and conferences in the region.
The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) Group, in collaboration with public and private sector partners, played a pivotal role in this achievement. In the global context, the UAE ranked first in the region and 35th worldwide for hosting conferences organized by international associations.
ADNEC was a key player, hosting 24 international conferences in 2022, including nine that marked their Middle East debut. Some noteworthy events held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre included the 6th World Union of Wound Healing Societies Congress 2022, the 37th World Veterinary Association Congress 2022 (the first in the Middle East), and the International Society of the Substance Use Professionals, among others.

In pursuit of further success, ADNEC Group, in partnership with international event and conference specialists, submitted bids to host more than 13 international conferences. Their ongoing efforts aim to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as an exceptional global conference destination through modern facilities and a talented workforce.
