Dubai, UAE – In a concerted effort to enhance road safety and raise awareness about traffic regulations, Dubai Police recently conducted a series of informative lectures and workshops as part of the ‘Accident-Free Day’ initiative. These educational sessions, benefiting over 7,900 individuals, encompassed various stakeholders, including government departments, private entities, school bus drivers, and concerned parents.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, emphasized the primary objectives of these lectures and workshops. They aimed to instill a culture of safety and security, encourage strict adherence to traffic rules and regulations, and prioritize the well-being of all road users, especially school students. Key topics covered included observing speed limits, following designated lanes, avoiding distractions while driving, and recognizing the substantial social responsibility shouldered by bus drivers. Major General Al Mazroui underscored the pivotal role played by these drivers in ensuring the safety of students.

Furthermore, Maj. Gen. Al Mazroui urged parents to be proactive in adhering to traffic laws, regulations, traffic signs, and instructions from traffic officers. He stressed the importance of practicing caution, such as wearing seat belts, maintaining patience, and staying within designated lanes. Parking etiquette was also discussed, emphasizing the need to use parking spaces appropriately without obstructing others and refraining from parking in unauthorized areas. The significance of adhering to school zone signage was highlighted, with a focus on reducing speed, staying alert, exercising caution, and anticipating the actions of fellow road users.

The informative lectures and workshops form an integral part of the ‘Accident-Free Day’ initiative, which seeks to foster traffic awareness, promote the implementation of safety measures, and assess the conduct of bus drivers. Ultimately, this initiative strives to achieve the highest levels of traffic safety and ensure the preservation of lives and property on Dubai’s roads.

Through such proactive initiatives and educational programs, Dubai Police continues to demonstrate its commitment to enhancing road safety and building a more responsible and conscientious driving culture in the city. The collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including government bodies, private organizations, and individuals, are essential in realizing the goal of accident-free roads and safeguarding the well-being of all residents and visitors.
