Dubai Police Crack Down on Reckless Female Motorcyclists

Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Police have taken swift action against a group of female motorcyclists who were caught on camera performing dangerous stunts and concealing their motorcycle number plates on the streets of the emirate. The incident came to light after a video of their reckless behavior went viral on social media.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, the Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, confirmed that the authorities summoned the group of girls involved in the incident. Their dangerous antics included riding without holding the handlebars, standing on the motorcycle, and riding on one wheel, posing a grave risk to their own safety and that of other road users. Additionally, one of the motorcyclists had concealed her number plate in an attempt to evade legal consequences.

Following a thorough investigation, the motorcyclists were identified and summoned to the General Department of Traffic. They admitted to engaging in such behavior on multiple occasions.

Major General Al Mazroui emphasized that such reckless behavior has serious consequences. In this case, their motorcycles were confiscated, and several traffic violations were issued. Under the Federal Traffic Law, these violations carry a fine of AED 2,000 and 23 traffic points, along with a 60-day vehicle impoundment. Furthermore, in accordance with Decree No. 30 of 2023, which addresses traffic violations and vehicle impoundment, reckless drivers who endanger their own safety and the safety of others can face a hefty AED 50,000 fine for releasing the impounded vehicle.

Major General Al Mazroui pointed out that a concerning statistic reveals that at least 80% of individuals engaged in such behavior have been involved in serious accidents leading to fatalities or severe injuries.

In an effort to curb such behavior and enhance road safety, Major General Al Mazroui urged community members to promptly report reckless drivers or violations. They can do so by contacting (901) or via the ‘Police Eye’ service on the Dubai Police smart app.

The Dubai Police’s swift response to this incident underscores their commitment to ensuring the safety of all road users and maintaining law and order on the emirate’s streets.
