Dubai, UAE – The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai organized a captivating event on Sunday to shed light on the tourism potential of Pakistan. The event saw a distinguished gathering, including Mr. Wasi Shah, Minister of State for Tourism and Chairman of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, renowned Pakistani mountaineer Ms. Naila Kayani, prominent Emiratis, and a substantial turnout of Pakistani community members.

Tourism Gems of Pakistan

Mr. Wasi Shah, in his address, eloquently showcased the tourism potential that Pakistan boasts. He described Pakistan as a treasure trove of natural beauty and cultural heritage, with a history dating back a staggering 9,000 years. The country is blessed with breathtaking scenic vistas, the world’s loftiest mountain peaks, numerous religious and historical landmarks, unique artistry, and a rich cultural heritage.

He also highlighted the Pakistani government’s commitment to promoting tourism. This includes a more lenient visa policy to encourage and welcome tourists from across the globe. In the realm of mountaineering, Mr. Wasi Shah emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring insurance coverage for porters, offering training and certification opportunities, and fostering the immense investment potential within Pakistan’s tourism sector.

Acknowledgment of Achievements

Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi took a moment to applaud the remarkable accomplishments of Ms. Naila Kiani, a Pakistani mountaineer who has scaled eight of the world’s fourteen peaks above 8000 meters. Notably, Ms. Naila has successfully conquered all five of Pakistan’s highest peaks exceeding 8000 meters. Ambassador Tirmizi praised her efforts in championing women’s empowerment and her significant role in showcasing Pakistan’s untapped tourism potential to the world.

Ms. Naila Kiani’s Ascent Continues

Ms. Naila Kiani shared her inspiring journey, revealing her ambition to conquer all the peaks above 8000 meters. Her next expedition is set to take her to Mount Manaslu in Nepal, followed by Peak Cho Oyu and Shishapangma in China. It’s worth noting that Ms. Naila Kiani holds the distinction of being the first and only Pakistani woman to ascend all of Pakistan’s highest peaks exceeding 8000 meters.
