Dubai, UAE – In a bid to harness upcoming economic prospects and engage the youth in developmental and touristic projects, the Dubai Police, through the General Department of Logistics Support, has introduced a groundbreaking initiative aimed at supporting Hatta traders. This significant move seeks to expedite the growth of the Hatta region while simultaneously enhancing contractual opportunities with both public and private sectors and promoting local products.
The initiative was officially unveiled during a pivotal meeting held at the Hatta Community Centre, where representatives from the Dubai Police, including Lt. Col. Obaid Al Shamsi, Acting Deputy Director of the General Department of Logistics Support, Major Dr. Mansour Al Mulla, Director of the Procurement and Stores Department, Shamma Ali Ghanem, Director of the Supplier Relations Centre, and Huda Abdul Karim, Head of the Supplier Services Section, gathered alongside several officers.
At the outset of the meeting, Lt. Col. Obaid Al Shamsi underscored the unwavering commitment of the Dubai Police to maintain open channels of communication with all strategic partners. He emphasized that this initiative aligns seamlessly with the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and operates under the supervision of Major General Ali Ghanem, Director of the General Department of Logistics Support.
Al Shamsi reiterated the Dubai Police’s dedication to supporting and empowering Emirati entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Through this initiative, they plan to collaborate with both government entities and the private sector, providing benefits and incentives for these projects while extending comprehensive support to their products and services.
Shamma Ali Ghanem highlighted the pivotal role of Hatta as a multifaceted destination encompassing social, tourist, and economic facets. She emphasized, “The General Department of Logistics Support, represented by the Supplier Relations Centre, has launched the initiative to empower Hatta’s traders to participate in tenders issued by Dubai Police. This step will also enable them to engage in tenders offered by other government entities across Dubai.”
Huda Abdul Karim shed light on the execution phase of the initiative, revealing that it would unfold through a series of events. These include prominent occasions such as the Dubai Fitness Challenge 30X30, the Bedouin Heritage Festival, National Day celebrations, the Hatta Honey Festival, Hatta Cultural Nights, Dubai Shopping Festival, Eid in Dubai, the Lights Festival, Hatta Hills Run, and the Hatta Triathlon.
