Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Police extended a warm welcome to a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Economy (MOEC) in their ongoing efforts to bolster cooperation and knowledge sharing in various areas of mutual interest. A key focus of this collaboration is the exploration of Dubai Police’s innovative inventions and their expertise in the realm of intellectual property.
The distinguished MOEC delegation, led by Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Maeeni, Secretary-General of the Association Emirates Intellectual Property, received a gracious reception from His Excellency Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs at Dubai Police. The meeting also included the presence of senior officials, including Brigadier Muhammad Aqeel Ahli, Deputy Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation for Search and Investigation Affairs; 1st Expert Brigadier Khaled Hussain Al Samiti, Acting Deputy Director of the General Department of Forensic Evidence for Technical Affairs; Brigadier Dr. Saeed Al Qemzi, Assistant Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation for Criminal Operations Affairs; and Brigadier Majid Al Suwaidi, Director of Al Barsha Police Station.
Maj. Gen. Expert Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri emphasized Dubai Police’s commitment to fostering communication and knowledge exchange with various local and international entities across diverse specialized domains. Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Maeeni, in turn, highlighted MOEC’s dedication to nurturing collaborations with local government entities, aiming to forge outstanding partnerships in areas of common interest, particularly in the realm of intellectual property.
During their meeting, the two parties discussed various avenues to strengthen cooperation, including Dubai Police’s participation in the UAE-European and UAE-US intellectual property dialogues, patent registrations for Dubai Police, and the joint development of an awareness project to protect intellectual property rights.
Following the meeting, the delegation had the opportunity to visit the General Department of Forensic Science and Criminology, where they gained insights into the department’s structure, divisions, work mechanisms, and best practices. They were introduced to ongoing and future projects and learned about the latest advancements and research in the field of forensic evidence. Additionally, they explored publications and cutting-edge technologies used in the forensic evidence domain.
The delegation also had the privilege of reviewing the Dubai Police International Centre of Forensic Sciences (ICFS) and its pivotal role in supporting regional and international research on forensic evidence. They were briefed on the diverse training programs offered by the center and its active involvement in international events covering various scientific disciplines within the field of forensic evidence.
This collaboration between the Dubai Police and the Ministry of Economy marks a significant step toward strengthening ties and fostering innovation in the crucial area of intellectual property protection, underscoring the commitment of both organizations to advancing knowledge and expertise for the benefit of society.
