Dubai, UAE – In the opening weekend of the ILT20 Development Tournament in Dubai, several teams recorded impressive wins, providing a crucial opportunity for UAE players to secure spots in the DP World ILT20 Season 2.
The tournament kicked off with the ILT20 Blitzers securing a comfortable seven-wicket victory, thanks to player of the match Usman Khan’s unbeaten 68 off 52 balls. They successfully chased down 115 runs with 20 balls to spare.
In the second match, ILT20 Pearls registered a 19-run win against the Dynamos. Opener Aryansh Sharma’s explosive 63 off 41 balls set the tone, and all-rounder Zawar Farid contributed both with the bat and ball, earning him the player of the match award.
In the third match, the ILT20 Thunderbolts chased down a target of 166 runs, with Ansh Tandon playing a smashing unbeaten innings of 45 off 19 balls. Captain Rohan Mustafa’s 43 off 36 balls also played a crucial role in the victory.
Marvels secured their first win by defeating Pearls by seven wickets in the second match on Sunday. They bowled Pearls out for 114, with Muhammad Zuhaib and Aayan Afzal Khan taking four and three wickets, respectively. Marvels then successfully chased down the target of 122 runs in 17.2 overs, with opener Mayank Choudhry top-scoring with 47 runs.
The ILT20 Development Tournament is providing UAE players with a significant opportunity, with 13 spots for UAE players still available in the upcoming DP World ILT20 Season 2.
