Dubai, UAE – The world’s largest start-up event, Expand North Star 2023, is set to host an unprecedented showcase of Indian start-ups in Dubai, from 15-18 October. This event, hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, will feature over 1,800 start-ups from more than 100 countries, with 200 innovative Indian companies choosing Dubai as their global expansion launchpad.

These Indian start-ups encompass various sectors, from sustainable agri-tech to immersive gaming, and aim to attract investors and customers for their international growth.

Sustainable Agri-tech Takes Center Stage

One of the notable Indian start-ups at the event is Noval Sustainability, introducing “DE-Carbon,” an animal feed protein derived from waste products. Founder Siva Sanker believes DE-Carbon can significantly reduce the environmental impact of the carbon-heavy feed and meat industries. By recycling waste into protein, they are tapping into a potential US$500 billion industry, aiming to bridge the gap in wasted proteins from meat consumption.

Deep Tech Immersive Gaming on the Rise

Investors in the US$300 billion gaming industry will witness the introduction of deep tech gaming platforms, such as Tuttifrutti Interactive’s “Sophia’s Adventures.” Using Unreal 5 Nanite technology, this game promises to redefine the female gaming market and could propel the company to exponential growth, targeting revenues of US$80 million with multiple upcoming games.

Unveiling Growth Roadmaps

Expand North Star 2023’s conference program will feature unicorn founders from India, offering insights into global growth strategies. Speakers include Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO & Co-Founder of Ola Cabs & Ola Electric, and Abiraj Singh Bhal, CEO & Founder of Urban Company, among others.

Building Cross-Border Economic Ties

This substantial Indian participation at Expand North Star 2023 coincides with the UAE and India’s efforts to enhance bilateral trade and investment opportunities. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement aims to double non-oil trade value from 2023 to 2030, reaching US$100 billion.

Dubai’s commitment to nurturing the start-up ecosystem is evident with 30 percent of the emirate’s start-ups being Indian-owned. The event will bring together over 1,000 tech investors and venture capitalists from 70 countries with a total capital of US$1 trillion to support and scale-up promising start-ups.

Expand North Star is part of GITEX GLOBAL, the world’s largest tech show, creating a massive tech presence in Dubai, covering 2.7 million square feet of exhibition space, marking a 40 percent increase from the previous year.
