Emirates Food Industries and Alltech Embark on the Middle East Regions’ First Planet of Plenty Partnership

Dubai, UAE – National Dairy and Masakin Dairy, part of Emirates Food Industries, have announced a groundbreaking collaboration with global leader Alltech, focused on revolutionizing carbon footprint reduction and introducing innovative methane-reducing technology, Agolin, to the Middle East. This partnership aims to set new sustainability benchmarks in the dairy industry.

Emirates Food Industries, under its flagship brand Hayatna, has gained acclaim for its quality and freshness. With this collaboration, the two dairy giants will embark on a journey to measure and mitigate their carbon footprints.

Gerald Kiernan, General Manager of National and Masakin Dairy Farms, stressed the importance of adopting eco-conscious practices amid growing climate change concerns.

Through their partnership with Alltech, National and Masakin Dairy will access cutting-edge carbon footprint benchmarking technologies for precise environmental impact measurements, enabling data-driven decisions and ambitious carbon reduction targets.

This collaboration introduces a significant breakthrough in the Middle East with the implementation of Alltech’s methane-reducing technology, scientifically proven to lower methane emissions by 10%. This technology enhances farm profitability by increasing feed efficiency and milk production.

Wasfi Kaso, CEO of Emirates Food Industries, emphasized the broader vision of embracing greener practices throughout the value chain, paving the way for a more sustainable dairy industry in the Middle East.

This initiative takes place on the eve of COP28, hosted by the UAE in November 2023, offering a shining example of corporate responsibility and climate action. National and Masakin Dairy’s proactive steps towards carbon reduction align with the UAE’s commitment to the Paris Agreement targets.
