Sheikh Mansoor Visits Dubai Police Stand at AccessAbilities Expo

Dubai, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council and Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Protection of the Rights of People of Determination, visited the Dubai Police’s stand at the AccessAbilities Expo held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. During his visit, Sheikh Mansoor explored a range of innovative services, programs, and courses aimed at enhancing the lives of people with determination, using smart digital technologies.

One highlight of his visit was a captivating sign language theater performance by students from Hemaya Schools for boys, demonstrating Dubai Police’s commitment to engaging people with determination in various disciplines, including art.

The Dubai Police stand showcased several supportive innovations, including the ‘Smart Thermometer,’ a wristband that continuously monitors body temperature, heart rate, and blood oxygen levels. It sends health status updates through a smart application, benefiting children, individuals with disabilities, and senior citizens.

Another notable project was the ‘Friendly Hand,’ a flexible waterproof glove with integrated sensors that assist individuals with conditions like erb’s palsy and impaired nerve function, enabling them to perform desired movements.

The Smart Safe Bus project was also featured, designed to ensure the safety of students with determination. It features seat sensors, enabling students to receive notifications when trying to stand while the bus is in motion, and parents can monitor their children remotely through cameras on the bus.

The ‘Smart Guide’ project introduced a user-friendly system to aid the mobility of the visually impaired, providing navigation and obstacle avoidance within a range of up to 5 meters and guidance to specific destinations.

Additionally, the Empowerment of People with Determination Council presented the “Smart Path” service available at police centers. This service offers visually impaired individuals a seamless way to navigate police centers with the help of a dedicated smartphone app, providing audio-guided instructions.

The Dubai Police stand hosted art workshops for people with determination, informative sessions on emergency hotlines, and impressive musical performances by the Dubai Police Academy band and K9 police dogs. The event showcased the commitment of Dubai Police to inclusivity and innovation in supporting the needs of individuals with determination.
