Dubai, UAE – GHAYA, a UAE-based “purpose to impact” strategy consultancy, has unveiled the inaugural “WORLD WITH PURPOSE” summit, titled “THE RISE OF A GLOBAL IMPACT ECONOMY.” Under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Economy and in partnership with MAJRA, the National CSR Fund, the summit is scheduled to take place on November 7th and 8th, 2023, at the sustainable JA The Resort in Dubai.
The WORLD WITH PURPOSE 2023 (WWP23) summit has been initiated by dedicated executives with a strong commitment to making a meaningful impact in the Middle East and Africa. It aims to encourage businesses to go beyond profit generation and focus on creating lasting value and influence, fostering a global impact-driven economy. This event will serve as a platform for showcasing local success stories and driving positive global change.
The inaugural summit is dedicated to transforming the business and sustainability landscape with a focus on purpose, supporting the UAE public sector’s role in global sustainability. It will emphasize discussions on businesses as a force for good, impact investing, the G20 roadmap, purpose-driven leadership, and climate action. The summit also aims to inspire leaders and organizations to commit to the WORLD WITH PURPOSE Pledge, recognize UAE SMEs driving impact through technology, create impactful partnerships, and highlight best practices for purpose-led business.
With a distinguished speaker lineup featuring world bankers, economists, thought leaders, futurists, and even a monk, the summit is set to deliver disruptive conversations aimed at harnessing the power of business as a force for good to enable global prosperity.
WWP23 underscores the crucial role of leadership with a clear sense of purpose in the business world, encouraging commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (“UN SDGs”) and fostering collaborative partnerships for meaningful change. It aims to bridge the gap between COP28, the G20, and ongoing global sustainability initiatives.
Roberta Calarese, Founder and CEO of GHAYA, expressed enthusiasm about the summit’s mission to harness the power of business for global prosperity and address the environmental challenges arising from profit-driven perspectives.
Tatiana Antonelli Abella, Co-founder of GHAYA and CEO of Goumbook, highlighted the need to shift leadership mindsets toward long-term, purpose-driven perspectives and align profit with purpose through collaboration among governments, businesses, civil society, and individuals.
The “World With Purpose” summit is a practical step towards transforming the private sector, aligning the UAE with global sustainability efforts and supporting the UN SDGs.
The summit, limited to 300 guests, including 100 youth leaders and changemakers, is by invitation only, and applications to attend can be made via the GHAYA website, www.ghaya.ae.
