Dubai, UAE – Expand North Star, the world’s largest start-up show, opened in Dubai Harbour today, marking its largest ever edition. The event boasts participation from more than 1,800 start-ups representing 100 countries, all eager to connect, seek funding, and share insights with global peers.
Hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, Expand North Star is taking place from October 15 to 18, 2023, at the Middle East’s largest superyacht hub. Over 1,000 investors, collectively managing more than US$1 trillion, have converged at this dynamic event, intensifying the start-up investment momentum in one of the world’s most diverse scale-up ecosystems.
Expand North Star is a key component of GITEX GLOBAL, the world’s largest tech event, scheduled to open on October 16 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Together, these events, organized by DWTC, encompass an impressive 2.7 million sq. ft of exhibition space, signifying a 40 percent increase over the previous year. This year’s theme revolves around exploring new frontiers in technology, including AI, the cloud, Web 3.0, and a sustainable digital economy.
Highlights of Expand North Star 2023 include AI Monday, showcasing rapidly growing AI startups, India Central, bringing together more than 200 Indian startups, and Asia Fast 100 and Africa Fast 100, which feature 100 leading startups from each continent. These segments offer a week-long program of conferences, networking opportunities, and dedicated pitch competitions.
The event also features three themed sub-events focusing on specific sectors: Fintech Surge, the Future Blockchain Summit, and Marketing Mania. Expand North Star will conclude with the prestigious Supernova Challenge, a pitch competition offering a prize fund of US$200,000, adding to the event’s appeal as a must-attend gathering for the global start-up community.
