UAE and Pakistan Enhance Tech Collaboration at GITEX 2023

Dubai, UAE – GITEX 2023, Pakistan’s caretaker Minister for Information Technology, Dr. Umar Saif, and the UAE’s Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy, H.E. Omar Sultan Al Olama, discussed plans to expand bilateral cooperation in the field of Information Technology, with a specific focus on Artificial Intelligence and the Digital Economy.

Pakistan, represented by over 27 companies and more than 45 startups under the banner “TechDestinationPakistan” at GITEX 2023, showcased its tech potential, highlighting the numerous IT graduates produced by Pakistani universities and the flourishing startup culture in the country.

Dr. Umar Saif also commended GITEX as an ideal platform for exhibitors to connect with industry leaders, explore business prospects, and stay updated on global developments. H.E. Omar Sultan Al Olama expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s increasing involvement in GITEX Global 2023.

Both sides reached an agreement to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate the Government Excellence Excellence Program (GEEP), aiming to enhance government performance and achieve excellence. This move signifies a significant step towards strengthening cooperation in the field of technology and fostering collaboration between the two nations.
