Dubai Police Unveils Self-Driving Security Patrol at GITEX 2023

Dubai, UAE – At GITEX Global 2023, Dubai Police unveiled an innovative self-driving security patrol designed to enhance safety in residential areas. Lieutenant Rashid bin Haidar of the Dubai Police’s General Department of Administrative Affairs introduced this eco-friendly, fully electric patrol vehicle to exhibition visitors.

Key Features:

  • The vehicle boasts a 15-hour battery life and can travel at speeds of 5 to 7 kilometers per hour.
  • Tailored for residential zones, the patrol aims to bolster security coverage, featuring a high-tech 360-degree camera.
  • Powered by smart technology and artificial intelligence, it can identify criminal activity, recognize faces, and read car license plates.
  • The patrol is equipped with direct communication technology, allowing real-time interaction with the Command and Control Center at the Dubai Police’s General Operations Department.

Onboard Drone: One of its standout features is the onboard drone. According to Lieutenant Rashid, “This drone can access areas the vehicle cannot and maintains direct wireless communication with the patrol once launched.”
