UAE Air Force Commander Visits Pakistan’s Air Headquarters

Islamabad, Pakistan – A high-level delegation led by Major General Staff Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Mohamed Al-Alawi, Commander of the Air Force & Air Defence of the United Arab Emirates, visited Air Headquarters in Islamabad to meet with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force.

The discussions during the meeting covered a wide range of topics, including the geo-strategic environment, regional security, and opportunities to enhance bilateral defense cooperation. Upon his arrival, a Pakistan Air Force contingent presented a guard of honor to Major General Staff Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Mohamed Al-Alawi, and he was introduced to the Principal Staff Officers of the Pakistan Air Force.

In their meeting, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu outlined the Pakistan Air Force’s modernization efforts, with a focus on areas like Cyber, Space, Artificial Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Niche technologies. He also highlighted ongoing projects related to operational capabilities, force goals, and future warfare strategies. The Air Chief appreciated the UAE Air Force’s participation in Pakistan Air Force’s multinational Exercise Indus Shield and emphasized the strong brotherly relations between the two countries, expressing a commitment to enhancing military-to-military cooperation, joint exercises, and training programs.

The Commander of the Air Force & Air Defence of the United Arab Emirates commended the remarkable advancements made by the Pakistan Air Force in indigenous capabilities and the professionalism of its personnel. Both sides agreed to optimize their military ties with a focus on advanced tactical training, emerging technologies, and strengthening operational competencies. They also discussed potential joint military exercises and exchange programs to enhance interoperability and foster closer ties between their Air Forces.

During the visit, the UAE delegation had the opportunity to explore various installations and technological infrastructure at Air Headquarters, including the National ISR & Integrated Air Operations Centre and PAF’s Cyber Command. They also visited the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park and praised the dynamic leadership of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, which contributed to the successful realization of the project within a record timeframe.

This meeting reflects the commitment of both countries’ Armed Forces to collaborate in addressing common challenges and strengthen their bilateral ties in the defense and military cooperation domains.
