Dubai, UAE – The 27th edition of Beautyworld Middle East, the region’s largest international trade fair for beauty, hair, fragrance, and wellbeing, has concluded with the announcement of the ‘Signature Scent’ award winner. Jean-François Thizon, Perfumer at Parfex, claimed this prestigious honor with his creation, ‘Golden Light.’

This trade fair, recognized as one of the most influential and visited in the world, highlighted the remarkable growth in the fragrance sector on a global scale. The ‘Signature Scent’ competition featured 15 top international fragrance houses, each tasked with creating their interpretation of a signature scent for the event. Visitors had the opportunity to sample these fragrances in a blind test using cutting-edge technology from AirParfum.

Amongst strong competition from renowned international houses such as CFF, Cosmo International Fragrances, and CPL Aromas, ‘Golden Light’ by Jean-François Thizon stood out for its ability to encapsulate the essence of the event. The fragrance boasts captivating notes, including mandarin and lily of the valley as top notes, patchouli and musk in the middle, and sandalwood and vanilla as bottom notes. Thizon received his award from Benoit Vittet, Head of Perfumery at Jean Niel Sas, the winner of the 2022 edition of the competition.

Thizon expressed his gratitude for receiving the ‘Signature Scent’ award, stating, “I am so proud to be honored with the award of ‘Signature Scent’ for Beautyworld Middle East. This is my first perfumery award, and I am very grateful for the recognition.” He further explained the inspiration behind his creation, stating, “When I think of Dubai, I think of Golden Light, and this is the definition of this fragrance. It illustrates what ‘Golden Light’ is to me in the Middle East, a mixture of musk, amber, and white flowers. I created a personal and intimate balance of these scents, adding vanilla to make a delicious, long-lasting fragrance.”
