Riyadh Air and IBM Forge Tech Foundation Collaboration

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Riyadh Air and IBM have entered into a strategic partnership to revolutionize the airline industry with cutting-edge digital technology. IBM Consulting will serve as the lead systems integrator, working closely with Riyadh Air to create a robust technology foundation that promises exceptional and seamless travel experiences. The collaboration involves implementing over 50 airline industry solutions and core technology capabilities, employing a hybrid cloud approach. IBM will also oversee the work of more than 40 partners, providing program and technical governance, project management, and quality assurance.

Riyadh Air’s goal is to position itself as a leader in the aviation sector, offering innovative digital solutions and unparalleled traveler experiences. The airline aims to deliver personalized and seamless journeys with the help of AI and advanced digital technology, while also empowering its employees with data-driven insights to enhance guest services. Their ambition is to launch their first flight in 2025, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to transform the country into a global aviation and trade hub.

Adam Boukadida, Chief Financial Officer of Riyadh Air, emphasized the significance of this partnership and IBM Consulting’s expertise in managing complex systems and integration programs in the travel industry.

John Granger, Senior Vice President of IBM Consulting, expressed pride in supporting Riyadh Air’s vision and highlighted the importance of an open, hybrid cloud approach and AI in delivering exceptional travel experiences.

IBM Consulting will also establish and maintain Riyadh Air’s hybrid cloud integration platform, leveraging IBM CloudPak for Integration and Red Hat OpenShift to simplify application and data integration.

This collaboration signifies Riyadh Air’s commitment to advancing the aviation industry and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader strategic objectives. IBM Consulting’s expertise in hybrid cloud and AI technologies positions them as a valuable partner in Riyadh Air’s journey toward digital transformation and innovation in the aviation sector.
