Al Masaood Group to Participate at COP28 UAE

Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Masaood Group, a prominent Abu Dhabi-based conglomerate, is set to make a significant impact at the upcoming COP28 UAE, scheduled to take place in Expo City, Dubai, from November 30 to December 12, 2023. The event will convene global leaders, policymakers, industry experts, and environmental advocates to strategize and address climate change challenges.

Al Masaood, represented by its Power Division, will unveil SHAMS+, a groundbreaking solar power charging station designed and manufactured in the UAE for electric vehicles and hybrid marine vessels. SHAMS+ stands out as a 100% renewable energy source that is also re-deployable, carbon-neutral, and requires minimal maintenance, positioning it as a potent tool in the fight against global warming. This showcase underscores Al Masaood’s pivotal role in advancing the transition to clean energy, aligning with the UAE’s sustainability goals and contributing to global climate initiatives.

Hani El Tannir, CEO of Al Masaood Group Industrial, emphasized the organization’s commitment to sustainability at COP28. He stated, “Our presence at COP28 serves as a powerful testament to our dedication to advancing green mobility and developing groundbreaking technologies like SHAMS+. We hope that SHAMS+ will significantly boost the adoption of electric vehicles and marine vessels in the region while providing clean power to various applications.”

SHAMS+ represents one of many tangible achievements demonstrating Al Masaood’s commitment to sustainability, decarbonization, and the clean energy transition. The recent launch of the Sustainability Report 2022 highlights the Group’s dedication to achieving sustainability goals, aligning with the Abu Dhabi Environment Vision 2030 and contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Al Masaood has further solidified its commitment to sustainability by signing the “Climate-Responsible Companies Pledge” launched by the UAE’s Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, aligning with the country’s “Net Zero by 2050” strategic initiative.
