Dubai, UAE – Dubai Police, under the guidance of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, is set to elevate the competition stakes for the upcoming fifth “UAE SWAT Challenge” scheduled from February 3-7, 2024. The prize money has witnessed a substantial increase, soaring from USD 170,000 to a remarkable USD 260,000.
The decision comes in the wake of the event’s international acclaim over its previous four editions, drawing participation from elite special forces, rapid intervention units, and tactical teams worldwide.
Brigadier Obaid Mubarak Al Ketbi, Acting Deputy Director of Organisations Security and Protective Emergency, as well as Chairman of the Challenge’s Organizing Committee, emphasized that this significant prize hike underscores Dubai Police’s commitment to delivering an exceptional 2024 edition. The move reflects global recognition and appreciation from police and tactical team leaders.
Renowned as a premier event in the region’s SWAT and tactical team arena, the fourth edition of the UAE SWAT Challenge saw the participation of 55 teams from continents spanning Asia, Europe, Africa, South, and Latin America, according to Brigadier Al Ketbi.
The UAE SWAT Challenge stands as a testament to Dubai Police’s dedication to elevating competition and upholding high standards among security forces, particularly SWAT units. The annual event, held in Al Ruwayyah – Dubai, serves as a platform for the exchange of expertise and exposes participants to cutting-edge global SWAT and rapid intervention tactics.
The challenge encompasses a series of rigorous events designed to test the mettle of participating teams, including The Tactical Event, The Assault Event, The Officer Rescue, The Tower Event, and The Obstacle Course.
