Dubai, Saturday – The highly anticipated Dubai Police Esports Tournament commences its third edition at the Dubai Police Officers Club, featuring team-based and individual competitions. Over 1,000 players from diverse nationalities are set to compete over five days for top rankings and a chance to claim the substantial prize pool of AED 185,000.
Major Abdullah Al Shehi, Deputy Director of the Anti-Cybercrime Department, highlighted the tournament’s success in previous editions, drawing professional and amateur gamers of various age groups. He emphasized the significant appeal of electronic games across different societal segments, especially among the youth, and their potential to raise awareness on crucial issues.
The tournament, open to all age groups, including people of determination, will showcase popular games such as “VALORANT,” “FIFA 24 FC24,” “Counter-Strike 2,” “Dota 2,” and “Super Smash Bros Ultimate.” Special competitions exclusively for participants under 18 in “Fortnite” and “FIFA 24 FC24” are also scheduled.
In a unique addition, the third edition introduces a competition for the ‘Dubai’s Best Electronic Gaming Venue’ title in collaboration with the Department of Economy and Tourism and Dubai Municipality.
Moreover, an accompanying exhibition will feature over 20 specialized companies offering electronic games, devices, and related merchandise at exclusive discounts during the tournament.
The Dubai Police Officers Club in Al Jadaf will open its doors to the public at no cost, allowing attendees to witness the competitions from 12 PM to 10 PM. Major Al Shehi encouraged participation in raffles and competitions organized by the attending companies, enhancing the overall experience for spectators and enthusiasts alike.
