Global Leaders Gather at 9th CC Forum during UN’s COP28 for Sustainable Investment

Dubai, UAE – UAE hosted the much-anticipated 9th edition of the Climate Change Forum (CC Forum) on December 6-7, 2023, coinciding with the UN’s COP28 conference at Habtoor Palace. Known as the “green Davos,” the event brought together global investors, government officials, royal figures, and celebrities to address pressing issues such as Climate Change, Clean Energy, Women Empowerment, and Sustainable Africa.

Key speakers included HRH Sheikh Tahnoon bin Saeed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, President of Palau Hon. Surangel Whipps Jr, and HRIH Prince Sandor Habsburg-Lothringen. Notable announcements featured the launch of 100 emission-zero ships and the creation of a $10 billion green investment fund.

The Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony saw H.E. Bola Tinubu, President of Nigeria, recognized for creating the Ministry of Blue Economy, represented by H.E. Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite. British Supermodel Naomi Campbell received an award in person. The event also showcased eco-documentaries, including “Wasted” by Jessica Cheam and “ONE. Bassin” by Phil Fairclough.

The Gala concluded with a performance by 15-year-old violin prodigy Richard Kollert and ultra-soprano Emily Thorner, accompanied by the Middle East orchestra, making the Dubai iteration a blend of high-profile discussions, cultural enrichment, and recognition of outstanding contributions to sustainable development.
