Jonas Andersson Secures Teams’ Championship with Grand Prix Win in Sharjah

Sharjah, UAE – Team Sweden’s Jonas Andersson secured his dominance in the UIM F1H2O World Championship, claiming victory in the Road to Sharjah-Grand Prix of Sharjah. Leading from start to finish, Andersson not only celebrated his 14th career win but also clinched the coveted UIM F1H2O Teams’ Championship title to complement his second World Drivers’ Championship.

In a race marked by yellow-flag interruptions and intense competition, Andersson maintained a blistering pace, finishing 2.452 seconds ahead of Erik Stark from the Victory Team. Andersson’s teammate, Kalle Viippo, contributed valuable points, securing Team Sweden’s stronghold in the championship.

Reflecting on the season, an elated Andersson said, “It has been a very tough season against some big teams… It is incredible for me, and thanks to all the people who have been helping me.”

Stark, expressing his satisfaction with a runner-up finish in the Drivers’ Championship, looked forward to the future, saying, “Maybe next year we go for the win!”

The final round saw Peter Morin of the China CTIC Team confirm third in the overall Drivers’ Championship standings. The event also witnessed Brent Dillard and Alberto Comparato’s dramatic collision, resulting in their exit from the race.

With Andersson’s victory and Stark securing second place, the UIM F1H2O World Championship concluded with Andersson at the top, Stark in second, and Morin in third. Team Sweden celebrated a remarkable season, securing both individual and team titles.

The event showcased the resilience and skill of the participating teams, highlighting the competitive spirit of the UIM F1H2O World Championship.
