Dubai, UAE – Dubai’s General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments fulfilled a touching request from a young Arab girl, allowing her inmate father to attend her wedding ceremony. The girl, who submitted the heartfelt plea, emphasized the significance of her father’s presence during the momentous occasion.
Under the leadership of Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, the Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Criminal Investigation Affairs at Dubai Police, the department worked diligently to make the dream a reality. Brigadier Marwan Jalfar, the Director of the Department, confirmed the careful evaluation of financial and emotional circumstances surrounding the father’s presence during the wedding preparations.
In a compassionate response, aligned with the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the department swiftly approved the request, reflecting their commitment to humanitarian initiatives.
As part of the ‘Bring Joy to the Inmate’s Daughter’ initiative, the department not only arranged the wedding venue but also extended support in preparing and furnishing the couple’s new home. Brigadier Jalfar thanked Sheikh Ahmed Al-Shihi, an authorized Islamic marriage official, for officiating the ceremony.
Deputy Director Brig Salah Jumaa Bu Asaibah emphasized that this initiative is part of various efforts to ensure the happiness of inmates’ children, promoting values of tolerance and love in society.
The bride, her father, and the groom expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dubai Police for the initiative, bringing immense joy and happiness to their lives.
