Dubai, UAE – In their only warm-up match before the DP World ILT20 opener, the Desert Vipers suffered a 37-run defeat to the Dubai Capitals at the ICC Academy in Dubai. The fourteen-a-side contest saw batters returning multiple times to gain valuable time in the middle. Bowling first, the Vipers used nine bowlers, with Nathan Sowter, Rohan Mustafa, Bas de Leede, and Mohammad Amir finding success.
Former Viper and current Dubai Capitals member Sam Billings led aggressively, scoring 57 off 25 balls, while Rovman Powell remained unbeaten on 53. The Capitals set a total of 236/7. For the Vipers, Sherfane Rutherford and Rohan Mustafa contributed with the bat, but the standout performance came from Adam Hose, who made 39 off 21 balls.
Hose, coming off a stint at the Big Bash League, expressed satisfaction with his form, stating, “I have fallen into a good routine.” Despite some rustiness in the team, Hose highlighted the positive outing and the opportunity for the squad to gel.
