SRMG’s Digital Transformation: Exclusive Digital Approach for Leading Publications with New Editorial Appointments

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG), the largest integrated media group in the MENA region, has unveiled significant operational changes as part of its digital transformation strategy. Starting January 19, 2024, SRMG will adopt an exclusively digital approach for Arriyadiyah, AlEqtisadiah, and Malayalam News. This move is in response to the changing media consumption habits, emphasizing the rising popularity of digital, social, and audio-visual platforms.

As a part of these developments, SRMG has appointed new editors-in-chief, deputy editors-in-chief, and assistant editors-in-chief to support its commitment to nurturing the next generation of media professionals. The goal is to meet the evolving demands of diverse audiences worldwide and create innovative digital products.

Key appointments include:

Ibrahim Hamidi: Appointed as Editor-in-Chief of Al Majalla, bringing over 22 years of experience and expertise in diplomatic reporting and digital transformation.
Fahim Al-Hamid: Named General Supervisor of Editorial Affairs for Malayalam News, Urdu News, and Independent Urdu, with over three decades of experience in political journalism.
Mohammed Al-Bishi: Appointed as Acting Editor-in-Chief of AlEqtisadiah and Managing Editor of Asharq Business with Bloomberg, demonstrating extensive economic and editorial expertise.

Several new assistant editors-in-chief and deputy editors-in-chief have also been appointed, including:

Mohamed Hani: Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Asharq Al-Awsat, playing a pivotal role in the digital transformation and growth strategy of the leading Pan-Arab newspaper.
Zaid bin Kami: Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Asharq Al-Awsat, with a background in print and video journalism, specializing in economics.
Nour Nuqli: Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Arab News, recognized for her role in launching the digital version of Arab News in French and conducting interviews with prominent political figures.
May AlSharif: Assistant Editor-in-Chief of Independent Arabia, contributing significantly to the establishment and development of the publication.
