Riyadh, KSA – Avalon Pharmaceuticals, a leading Saudi Arabian pharmaceutical company with a 25-year history, has unveiled plans for a strategic partnership with City Pharmacy, the largest pharmaceutical distributor in the UAE. This move marks the beginning of Avalon’s international expansion strategy, focusing on accelerating growth and expanding its market presence.

Avalon Pharmaceuticals, renowned for its excellence in health, beauty, and prescription medicine sectors, aims to widen its reach across the GCC by offering its products through City Pharmacy’s extensive retail locations in the UAE. This partnership is a significant step towards Avalon’s goal of increasing total exports from 10% to 30% by 2030. Mohamed Maher Alghannam, Managing Director & CEO of Avalon Pharma, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in realizing their global ambitions.

City Pharmacy, established in 1967, holds the position of the largest pharmaceutical distributor in the UAE, distributing a diverse range of healthcare and medical products. The partnership with Avalon will further strengthen City Pharmacy’s presence and offerings in the Emirates.

Avalon Pharma’s expansion plans extend beyond the UAE, targeting emerging markets such as Libya, Sudan, Uganda, and Egypt. The company aims to champion the “Made in Saudi” tagline attached to its products, leveraging its strong reputation in key international markets.

Al Ghannam highlighted the recent opening of a regional office in Dubai, which will facilitate the success of the partnership with City Pharmacy. Avalon Pharma, recognized for its diverse product portfolio including cosmeceuticals, oral hygiene products, sanitizers, and herbal medicine, plans to add more products to its portfolio as part of its continuous growth strategy. The company remains well-positioned for expansion within the GCC and exploration of new markets in North Africa and East Asia.
