Ajman, UAE – The Ajman Department of Tourism Development (ADTD) has announced that it will host the 57th International Fitness and Bodybuilding – IFBB ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS in 2026, aiming to solidify its position as a premier sports tourism destination. The announcement was made at a press conference held at the Ajman Police Sports and Shooting Club.
Key figures including His Highness Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of ADTD, and Dr. Rafael Santoga, President of the International Federation of Bodybuilding, were present at the event. The championship, scheduled for May 2026, will feature not only the main competition but also side activities showcasing Ajman’s culture and heritage.
In preparation for the event, Ajman plans to enhance its tourism services, offering tailored accommodations, shopping, and entertainment experiences. His Highness Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi expressed the significance of hosting the championships, emphasizing Ajman’s commitment to becoming a comprehensive tourist destination.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif al-Sharqi, President of the UAE Federation for Body Building and Physical Strength, assured a high level of organization and professionalism for the event. Dr. Rafael Santoga highlighted the opportunity for cultural exchange through sports interaction.
Director General Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi underscored the economic benefits of hosting the championships, while Dr. Eng. Adel Fahim emphasized the event’s contribution to promoting bodybuilding in the region.
In the previous year, Ajman organized the third edition of the “Ajman International Body Building Championship,” attracting over 200 athletes from various nations.
