Ajman, UAE – The Ajman Department of Tourism Development (ADTD), led by His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General, is set to kick off a four-day roadshow in the United Kingdom from February 12 to 15, 2024. The primary objective of the initiative is to strengthen collaboration with key stakeholders in the UK tourism sector and attract visitors from various cities. The delegation’s itinerary includes stops in Glasgow, Birmingham, and London, where the latest destinations and projects will be showcased to enhance Ajman’s global tourism appeal.
The UK has played a significant role in Ajman’s tourism success, ranking among the top ten countries contributing tourists to the emirate. In 2023, there was a notable 7% increase in the total number of English tourists compared to the previous year, indicating steady growth.
His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming tour, highlighting its alignment with Ajman’s vision to solidify its position on the global tourism map. He emphasized the importance of fortifying partnerships, sharing experiences, and signing memorandums of understanding during the tour to support sustainable economic development in tourism.
Recent years have seen remarkable growth in Ajman’s tourism sector, with increases in hotel revenues, occupancy rates, and visitor numbers compared to 2022. The emirate is witnessing an upswing in tourism, particularly from the UK and Ireland, further establishing itself as a preferred destination for tourists from these countries.
