Dubai, UAE – Visa, the Worldwide Payment Technology Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and Emirates NBD Group have announced a series of events and promotions in anticipation of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. A key highlight of this initiative is the sponsorship of Emirati cyclist Safiya Al Sayegh, who at 22 years old, has secured her place as the first Emirati woman and the second UAE rider to qualify for the road race at the Olympics.

Visa and Emirates NBD are committed to supporting Safiya’s journey, emphasizing her as a symbol of ambition and perseverance. The partnership underscores the companies’ dedication to nurturing local sports talent and fostering the spirit of competition and unity within the UAE community.

Six lucky winners will have the chance to witness the excitement of the Olympic Games firsthand in Paris, courtesy of Visa. This unique opportunity is part of a series of initiatives aimed at promoting sports and fitness among amateurs and enthusiasts in the UAE.

The collaboration between Visa and Emirates NBD aligns with Visa’s core values of enabling access and promoting inclusion. It seeks to unite the UAE community through their shared love for sports, leveraging Dubai’s top-tier sporting facilities and venues.

Expressing her excitement, Safiya Al Sayegh, said, “Securing partnerships with inclusive and progressive entities like Visa and Emirates NBD is crucial as we persistently strive to transcend boundaries and uplift the stature of sports in our region.”

Salima Gutieva, UAE Country Manager at Visa, emphasized the importance of empowering local talents like Safiya and expressed anticipation for her historic journey to the Olympic stage, highlighting the UAE and women in sports.

Yousuf Saeed Mohd, Head of Priority Banking and Personal Banking at Emirates NBD, echoed the commitment to fostering local sports talent and promoting unity in the UAE community, expressing pride in supporting Safiya’s journey.
