Led by skipper Nicholas Pooran’s explosive unbeaten knock of 57 runs off 27 balls and Andre Fletcher’s robust 53 off 37 deliveries, MI Emirates set a formidable target of 208 for 3 in 20 overs. Pooran’s leadership and the aggressive contributions of openers Muhammad Waseem and Kusal Perera propelled Emirates to their record-breaking total.
In response, Dubai Capitals struggled to chase down the mammoth target and managed only 163 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite efforts from Tom Banton (35) and Sam Billings (40), Capitals fell short by 45 runs. Trent Boult and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth starred with the ball for MI Emirates, each claiming two wickets.
MI Emirates received the winners’ prize of $700,000 (USD), while the runners-up, Dubai Capitals, were awarded $300,000 (USD). Nicholas Pooran was named the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance in the final.
