Dubai, UAE – Bloom World Academy (BWA) has announced the launch of its pioneering initiative, The NEXUS Centre for Post-16 Studies, poised to redefine pre-university education and elevate the student experience to unprecedented heights. Set to welcome Grade 11 IB students in September 2024, this innovative development is designed to equip students not only with academic prowess but also with essential life skills crucial for tertiary education and beyond.

Distinguished by its unique approach, the NEXUS Centre will be situated within a dedicated university-style environment, featuring a split-level expansive open-plan learning and study space complemented by a mezzanine floor. The facility will include tutorial rooms, seminar spaces with tiered seating, a student café, open study areas, silent study pods, a common room, library, and a counselor’s office, fostering a multifaceted learning environment.

Operating with flexible hours extending from 8 am to 8 pm, students will benefit from unrestricted access to resources, facilitating research, collaborative learning, mentorships, and self-development. Setting itself apart with the implementation of a flipped learning approach, the NEXUS Centre will provide students with course content and materials at the onset of the academic year, empowering them to take ownership of their learning journey, enhancing engagement and performance.

Furthermore, real-world experiences will be seamlessly integrated into the curriculum through work experience programs and business partnerships, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Emphasizing adaptive learning, the Center will tailor courses to individual student needs, granting them control over their learning process and the flexibility to progress at their own pace.

In a holistic approach, the NEXUS Centre will incorporate a future-ready life skills program encompassing financial management, health, safety, and essential life skills. Students will also receive practical lessons in decision-making, problem-solving, interpersonal relationships, and emotional coping, among other vital areas.

With a commitment to personalized attention, the NEXUS Centre will maintain small class sizes to foster better teacher-student relationships, academic achievement, and readiness for higher education. Moreover, students will benefit from a comprehensive package featuring digital devices such as MacBooks and iPad Pros, enriching their learning experience.

The Center will also offer scholarships of up to 100% based on merit, underlining its dedication to providing top-tier education to the local and global community. As an IBDP/CP candidate school, BWA will offer a diverse range of educational pathways, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the Career-Related Programme (IBCP). Additionally, the school will introduce courses as part of the IBCP, including a pioneering short course in AI and Engineering, reflecting its commitment to innovation and dynamic learning experiences.

John Bell, Founding Principal of Bloom World Academy, expressed excitement about the launch, stating, “At Bloom World Academy, we strive to redefine conventional education, and our NEXUS Centre for Post-16 Studies epitomizes this vision. It will serve as a hub for nurturing creativity, collaboration, independence, and a lifelong passion for learning. Our goal is to inspire enduring curiosity and empower students to shape their own futures.”

With a dedicated team of counselors, coaches, and mentors, BWA aims to guide students through every step of their academic journey, fostering an environment conducive to growth and success. The inauguration of the NEXUS Centre marks a new era in secondary education, where innovation, adaptability, and personalized learning converge to mold the leaders of tomorrow. Prospective students enrolling in September 2024 will graduate in Spring 2026 with either an International Baccalaureate Diploma or Career-Related Programme, poised to embark on their chosen paths with confidence and competence.
