Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi celebrated International Women’s Day with a special event that highlighted the importance of gender equality and empowerment. Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi welcomed attendees, emphasizing the need for collective action to achieve gender parity. He stressed the significance of investing in women to spur progress and address economic disempowerment.
A panel discussion featuring prominent Pakistani women, including Zulfia Nazir, Kiran Malik, Mehr F. Husain, and Shazia Ali Khan, became the centerpiece of the event. Moderated by Saba Karim Khan, the panelists shared their inspiring success stories, showcasing their dedication and commitment to their respective fields.
Ambassador Tirmizi expressed his gratitude to the panelists and the diverse audience, which included Emirati and international women, as well as men and family members from various backgrounds. The event also featured documentaries produced by Pakistan’s Women Parliamentary Caucus and Haniya Faisal, celebrating the achievements of Pakistani women in different sectors.
