Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, in collaboration with Zayed University, has concluded a momentous panel discussion in honor of International Women’s Day. The event, which took place on March 6th, celebrated the remarkable life and contributions of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the esteemed wife of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The session revolved around Dr. Maitha al Shamsi’s latest book, “Fatima bint Mubarak: Illuminations in thought and Work,” offering profound insights into Sheikha Fatima’s visionary leadership and tireless efforts in advancing women’s rights and empowerment in the United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Maitha al Shamsi, Minister of State, emphasized the importance of emulating leadership figures like Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, whose contributions have profoundly impacted the UAE’s development and the promotion of national and humanitarian values. Dr. Shamsi highlighted Sheikha Fatima’s pivotal role in nurturing generations, championing childhood welfare, empowering women, and advocating for gender equality.

The panel discussion, moderated by Sameh Kaawach, Manager of Arabic Content and Program at Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, delved into Dr. Shamsi’s intellectual achievements in documenting Emirati women’s achievements and promoting community partnership and belonging. Dr. Shamsi shed light on Sheikha Fatima’s unwavering support for women, children, and humanitarian efforts, emphasizing her global impact on sustainable development goals and innovative thinking.

Huda Ibrahim Alkhamis, Founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, highlighted the significance of collaboration with all segments of Emirati society to honor women’s contributions, in line with Sheikha Fatima’s directives. Alkhamis underscored the importance of Dr. Shamsi’s book in showcasing Sheikha Fatima’s pivotal role in empowering women and fostering humanitarian efforts.

The event concluded with valuable advice from Dr. Shamsi to female students at Zayed University and attendees, emphasizing the importance of emulating the nation’s symbols and embracing values of commitment and altruism.
