Dubai, UAE – Al Ghurair Retail, a division of Al Ghurair Ventures, announced on 18 March 2024, a charitable partnership with Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) for the upcoming Holy Month of Ramadan. The initiative will see five per cent of the total revenue generated from their ‘The Face Shop’ brand throughout the month directed towards ERC’s ongoing ‘Ramadan: Continuous Giving Campaign’.
The funds raised will be utilized by ERC to provide essential items to those in need, both within the UAE and globally. ERC’s goal for this year’s Ramadan programmes is to support approximately 1.8 million individuals across 44 countries.
Daoud Asaad, General Manager of Al Ghurair Retail, expressed the company’s commitment to community service. “We take pride in giving back to the community. As part of one of the largest family business groups in the region, we see it as a moral responsibility to support those less fortunate,” said Asaad. He also commended the sustained efforts of Emirates Red Crescent and expressed hope that their partnership would inspire others.
The Holy Month of Ramadan is a significant time for charitable acts in the Muslim community, with a strong emphasis on giving back to those less fortunate. Acts of Sadaqah, or ‘righteousness’, are encouraged to help improve the quality of life for those facing humanitarian challenges.
Reef Al Khajeh, Marketing Director at Emirates Red Crescent, highlighted the organization’s key objectives for the Holy Month. “We aim to continue bringing together the generous people and businesses in the UAE to support our charitable initiatives. We are all united by a shared commitment to humanity, alleviating the suffering of vulnerable people and families around the world,” said Al Khajeh.
The initiative aligns with Al Ghurair’s overall purpose of ‘Enhancing Life’, contributing to meaningful and impactful change in the communities it serves.
