Dubai, UAE – Dubai Police have ramped up their efforts to maintain public health and safety during the holy month of Ramadan by arresting 47 street vendors and impounding several vehicles. These vendors were caught illegally selling fruits and vegetables, a violation of established health and safety regulations.
Lieutenant Colonel Talib Mohammad Al Ameri, who leads the Infiltrators Control Section within the General Department of Criminal Investigation, has confirmed that these arrests are in line with Dubai Police’s commitment to eradicating negative behaviors that compromise community security and safety.
The Lieutenant Colonel pointed out that such unauthorized selling activities are prevalent in areas where laborers congregate and near their living quarters. He has strongly advised the public against purchasing food items from these street vendors or unlicensed vehicles, highlighting the significant health risks associated with products that may be expired, of unknown origin, or not subjected to proper quality control measures.
In his statement, Al Ameri emphasized the importance of buying food from licensed establishments to ensure health and compliance with food safety standards.
The Dubai Police, along with their strategic partners, are keeping a close watch on such illegal activities through well-planned campaigns and unexpected inspections. Al Ameri has called upon the public to contribute to these efforts by reporting any violations to the authorities, thereby helping to uphold the highest standards of safety and security during Ramadan.
