High-Profile Victories Mark First Day of Dubai Arabian Horse Championship Qualifiers

Dubai, UAE – The 21st edition of the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship commenced on Friday night with a grand display of equestrian elegance, drawing the attention of enthusiasts and breeders from around the globe. Held at the esteemed Zabeel Halls 4, 5, and 6 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, the event showcased the finest Arabian foals, fillies, and mares, totaling over 109 entries vying for top honors.

With a total prize purse of US$4 million across 14 categories, including the prestigious Gold Champion Senior title with a value of US$275,000, the competition promised fierce but graceful competition. The participating horses, representing 102 horse studs, captivated the audience with their impeccable lineage and distinctive features, reflecting the pinnacle of Arabian equine excellence.

Each horse underwent meticulous evaluation by a panel of internationally acclaimed judges, who assessed various aesthetic attributes such as head, neck, chest, body, and feet, as well as overall symmetry and agility. The competition’s categories were delineated by a comprehensive points system, with horses nominated for Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals earning corresponding points.

The inaugural night featured two non-qualifying categories, showcasing the exceptional talents of filly foals and colt foals. Ajeebah Albidayer and Farid Al Hamidiya emerged as victors in their respective categories, setting the stage for an evening filled with captivating performances.

In the qualifying classes, which determined the contenders for Sunday’s championship tournament, horses competed fiercely for their place on the podium. Notable victories included D Rowa and Al Aryam Harbah in Class 1-A, while D Aserah claimed the top spot in Class 2 for two-year-old fillies.

The competition culminated with a mesmerizing display from mares aged 10 years and older, showcasing the timeless grace and beauty of Arabian equines. D Aziza emerged triumphant in Class 6, epitomizing the enduring legacy of Arabian equestrianism in the UAE.

As the event progresses into its second day, anticipation mounts for the male Arabian horses set to compete in the remaining qualifying tournaments. With the championship finale scheduled for Sunday, the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship continues to uphold its reputation as one of the world’s most prestigious equestrian events, celebrating the rich heritage and tradition of Arabian horsemanship.
