Ajman Folklore Festival Set to on April 19

Ajman, UAE – Under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council, the inaugural Ajman Folklore Festival is slated to take place from April 19 to 21. Themed “Ajman…embracing history and identity,” the event promises to be a vibrant celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the Emirate of Ajman.

The festival is the result of a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Culture, the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, the Rewaq Ousha Bint Hussein Cultural Center, and the MTG Events Organizing Company. It aims to promote cultural awareness and appreciation, particularly among the youth, while fostering a sense of pride in the folklore and heritage of Ajman.

During a press conference hosted by the Rewaq Ousha Bint Hussein Cultural Center, Dr. Mouza Ghubash, Chairwoman of the center and president of the festival, expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts involved in organizing the event. She emphasized the significance of preserving cultural and historical identities, highlighting the festival as a dynamic platform for young individuals to explore and connect with their folk heritage.

Key objectives of the festival include spotlighting the ancient heritage of Ajman, preserving Emirati cultural identity, and promoting cultural exchange and understanding among diverse communities. Dr. Ghubash underscored the importance of such initiatives in fostering peace, tolerance, and mutual respect.

The festival’s program promises a diverse range of activities, including concerts, folkloric performances, cultural showcases, workshops, art exhibitions, culinary delights, and fashion shows. Each day of the festival will feature a unique lineup of events, highlighting Emirati folklore, Arab traditions, and international cultural diversity.

On the inaugural day, attendees can expect Emirati folklore activities, including art exhibitions, vintage collectible displays, folk performances, and workshops on traditional crafts. The following days will feature enchanting displays of Arab and international folklore, with performances, workshops, and exhibitions celebrating the rich cultural tapestry of the region and the world.
