Dubai, UAE – In a heartwarming display of generosity and community spirit, the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) orchestrated an Eid Gift Distribution event, aiming to bring joy to deserving children ahead of Eid Al-Fitr. Held at the Pakistan Auditorium from 10 am to 5 pm, the event witnessed the fulfillment of little dreams as hundreds of children were presented with thoughtful gifts.
A total of 386 children were the recipients of these heartfelt gifts, ranging from clothes and toys to food items, hygiene products, shoes, and educational materials. The event, made possible through the dedicated efforts of the PAD Ladies Forum, emphasized inclusivity and compassion, ensuring that deserving families were part of the celebrations.
Zahid Hassan, PAD General Secretary, expressed gratitude to the Ladies Forum for their pivotal role in organizing the event. He stated, “Our goal remains to ensure that deserving families are also a part of our joy and celebrations – the essence of PAD truly lies in inclusivity and compassion.”
The special gift bags, tailored to meet each family’s specific needs, were generously donated by community members. Families and children were treated to a wholesome Eid shopping experience, receiving tokens to select items of their choice. The event brought together families from across the Emirates, spreading the joy of Eid for children of all age groups.
Mr. Faisal Sunka, PAD Welfare Director, expressed gratitude for the community’s support, highlighting the importance of remembering those with limited means during Eid celebrations. He stated, “Eid is an occasion where we should remember, in our celebrations, those individuals with limited means.”
The Eid Gift Distribution event is part of PAD’s annual Ramadan Welfare Campaign, which aims to support deserving families during the holy month. So far, the campaign has distributed food packages to 950 families, impacting 3,800 lives. Additionally, community iftar meals are being provided daily to over 250 people at the local Pakistani Mosque, benefiting more than 5,500 individuals.
In collaboration with the UPS Foundation, PAD successfully delivered food packages to 100 deserving families, making a significant difference in the lives of 400 individuals. Furthermore, PAD facilitated the repatriation of 275 prisoners in collaboration with local law enforcement authorities.
The community’s generous contributions and Zakat have been instrumental in providing affordable medical care at the Pakistan Medical Centre (PMC). In 2023, over 60% of patients at PMC received free treatment as part of the organization’s medical welfare services.
The Eid Gift Distribution event and PAD’s ongoing welfare initiatives reflect the organization’s commitment to serving the community and spreading joy and compassion during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr.
