Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Police has marked its presence at the 2024 Dubai Games and Digital Sports Festival, which commenced today at the Dubai World Trade Centre. In a strategic move to merge education with entertainment, the police force is set to leverage the power of electronic games to raise awareness among the youth.
Brigadier Dr. Ahmad Mirdas, the Acting Director of the General Department of Training, highlighted the collaboration with the General Department of Criminal Investigation as a key step in reaching out to the younger demographic, known for their avid gaming habits.
The initiative aims to shed light on critical issues such as the potential dangers of anonymous interactions in chat rooms, the significance of being vigilant during electronic financial transactions, and the crucial need to safeguard personal and banking information against extortion and fraud.
“This effort is in line with Dubai Police’s strategic goal of enhancing the safety and security of our community,” Dr. Mirdas stated.
At the heart of the Dubai Police’s booth are four popular games: EAFC24, Valorant, Fortnite, and Tekken. These games are not just for entertainment but serve as platforms for individual and team-based educational experiences, focusing on the importance of cybersecurity and online safety.
The Dubai Police continues to innovate in its approach to community engagement, using interactive and digital means to communicate essential messages to its younger audience. The 2024 Dubai Games and Digital Sports Festival serves as an ideal backdrop for such forward-thinking initiatives.
