Dubai Police Named Top Supporter of Voluntary Work at Sharjah Awards

Sharjah, UAE – The General Command of Dubai Police has been awarded first place in the “Best Entity/Individual Supporting Voluntary Work” category among government organisations at the 21st edition of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work. This prestigious accolade acknowledges the institution’s comprehensive volunteering policy, which includes the publication of a community volunteering guide that motivates organisationals units and employees to engage in voluntary work.

In addition to this significant achievement, Dubai Police secured second place for its “Positive Spirit” initiative. This initiative is designed to enhance the quality of life, promote social harmony, and foster happiness within residential neighbourhoods through a variety of programs and activities.

The awards were presented to a delegation from Dubai Police during a ceremony held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council. The event, attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah, took place at the Theater of the International Organizations Center for Islamic Heritage at the Institute of Heritage in Sharjah.

Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, accepted the award trophies, accompanied by Major Khalid Al Suwaidi, Director of Community Relations, Fatima Bouhejier, Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council, Helal Al Sri, and the team from the General Department of Community Happiness.

In his acceptance speech, Brigadier Al Mansouri dedicated the recognition to His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, lauding his unwavering support for the volunteering ethos within Dubai Police. Al Mansouri highlighted the commitment to embedding volunteering among employees and providing necessary facilities, along with the Council of Happiness and Positivity.

Al Mansouri underscored Dubai Police’s dedication to enhancing and developing the volunteer system, emphasizing the importance of humanitarian work and its role in achieving community stability, happiness, and quality of life. He stressed the significance of encouraging volunteering and the organisation and implementation of community initiatives and activities in residential areas to promote social harmony.

Expressing his gratitude, Al Mansouri thanked all Dubai Police employees, including those in general departments, police stations, and units supporting volunteering, as well as the Positive Spirit Council, for their collective efforts in elevating these initiatives. Their contributions have solidified Dubai Police’s pioneering position in various fields, including community work.
