Dubai, UAE – The 4th edition of the “Swaralaya Symphony on Strings” concert is set to captivate audiences on June 9, 2024, at the Emirates Theatre in Jumeirah, Dubai. The event, which will commence at 7:00 PM, promises a mesmerizing blend of Indian classical and modern music, headlined by the illustrious Sitar virtuoso, Purbayan Chatterjee, a recipient of the prestigious President of India Award.
Purbayan Chatterjee will be joined on stage by a stellar lineup of musicians, including the modern Tabla prodigy Ojas Adhiya, accomplished Mridangam artist NJ Nandagopal, and talented keyboard player Ruthvik Rao. Together, they aim to deliver an unforgettable musical experience, weaving together the rich tapestries of traditional and contemporary sounds.

Purbayan Chatterjee is celebrated for his innovative approach to Indian classical music, seamlessly integrating it with various world genres. His collaborations with legendary artists such as Ustad Zakir Hussain, Béla Fleck, Michael League with the Band Snarky Puppy, Shankar Mahadevan, and Jazz legend Herbie Hancock have earned him international acclaim. He has showcased his musical versatility at prestigious festivals like the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, OzAsia Festival in Australia, and Traumzeit Festival in Germany. His participation in Swaralaya Symphony on Strings is eagerly anticipated by music aficionados.
Joining Chatterjee is Ojas Adhiya, a Tabla prodigy recognized by the Limca Book of World Records as the youngest Tabla player in India in 1993. Adhiya, who has received numerous accolades including the Ustad Bismillah Khan Puraskar, excels across multiple music genres and has performed with luminaries such as John McLaughlin and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan.
NJ Nandagopal, renowned for his elegant stage presence and musical improvisation, will also be performing. A highly accomplished Mridangam artist, Nandagopal is celebrated for his nuanced understanding and anticipation in the Carnatic music field.
Ruthvik Rao, an acclaimed keyboard player from Bengaluru now residing in Mumbai, rounds out the impressive lineup. Starting his musical journey at the age of 15, Rao has made significant contributions to Kannada film scores and albums, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the regional music scene.
