Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – A major new partnership has been formed between AJEX Logistics Services, a leading Middle Eastern express distribution and shipping company, and Africa Union Holdings, a conglomerate with subsidiaries in trading and aviation.

The partnership agreement was officially signed at the Saudi Trade Attaché’s office in Sandton, Johannesburg. It represents a significant move to enhance logistics and supply chain connectivity between Africa and the Middle East.

Under the deal, AJEX and Africa Union Holdings will collaborate to streamline operations across shipping, air freight, trucking, rail freight and last-mile delivery. AJEX will manage the final delivery leg for Africa Union cargo headed to the Middle East, while Africa Union will handle the final leg for AJEX shipments to Africa.

The partnership aligns with both companies’ strategic expansion goals – Africa Union Holdings is growing its presence in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, while AJEX is expanding across sub-Saharan Africa.

Mohammed AlBayati, Group CEO of AJEX Logistics, hailed the agreement as a “pivotal milestone” that will enhance trade connectivity and economic cooperation between the two regions at a time when both are seeking to diversify trade partners.

“By leveraging each other’s strengths, AJEX and Africa Union Holdings are well-positioned to capitalize on emerging opportunities in sectors such as technology, agriculture, healthcare and energy,” AlBayati stated.

James Ndambo, CEO of Africa Union Holding, expressed excitement about the partnership, calling it “a new chapter” in building stronger Africa-Middle East trade and logistics ties. He said it demonstrates their commitment to enhancing service offerings and facilitating smoother trade flows benefiting businesses and consumers.

The deal comes as trade volumes between Africa and the Middle East are poised for significant growth, with both regions looking to reduce dependency on traditional trade routes.
