Cairo, Egypt – GE HealthCare (Nasdaq: GEHC), a global leader in medical technology and digital solutions, has reaffirmed its commitment to the Egyptian market with its participation in the third edition of Africa Health ExCon. The event, running from June 4 to 6 in Cairo, serves as a premier platform promoting health technology and innovation across the African continent.

During the three-day conference, GE HealthCare aims to explore new avenues for building a sustainable and advanced healthcare sector in Africa. The company plans to showcase its innovations in precision care, diagnostics, and imaging, highlighting a comprehensive portfolio of cutting-edge medical technology. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with GE HealthCare’s intelligent devices and care solutions designed to address modern clinical challenges, including patient screening, diagnostics, therapy planning, guidance, and monitoring.

Aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030, which seeks to enhance access to high-quality care for all societal segments, GE HealthCare’s participation underscores its commitment to empowering clinicians and improving patient outcomes. The event will feature hundreds of exhibitors and attract numerous visitors and stakeholders in the healthcare sector.

He added that GE HealthCare’s presence at Africa Health ExCon reflects its long-term commitment to strengthening Egypt’s healthcare landscape through collaboration and innovation.

Over the past year, GE HealthCare has implemented several initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and diagnostic capabilities within Egypt’s healthcare sector. In 2023, the company launched a comprehensive one-year multi-modality training program for clinicians and technicians at Ain Shams University Hospital, fostering local talent and bolstering the qualifications of the Egyptian clinical workforce.

GE HealthCare has been a key supporter of the Ministry of Health’s Living with Dignity (Hayat Karima) program, providing over 1,000 units of ultrasound equipment to improve diagnostic service access across Egypt. The company also delivered specialized ultrasound training to clinicians and technicians in Sinai, ensuring effective utilization of the new technology.

Additionally, GE HealthCare supported a national prostate cancer screening program, which has shown substantial benefits, underscoring the company’s commitment to delivering tangible healthcare improvements. Last year, GE HealthCare introduced a pilot program for digital asset management analytics on MRI machines in a limited geographic area, aiming to optimize equipment utilization and enhance patient treatment capacity. The program’s success has opened opportunities for expansion, promising further advancements in Egypt’s healthcare sector.
