Dubai, UAE – Dubai Police recently organised a dialogue session titled “Future Preparedness for Major Events and Activities,” featuring participants from various government entities and strategic partners. The session, held at the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, was inaugurated by Brigadier Obaid bin Yarouf, Deputy Director of the General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergencies for Organisation Security Affairs. Senior officers and employees from numerous government bodies attended the event.
Participants engaged in discussions on future opportunities and challenges in organising major events, with a focus on rapid technological advancements and the application of artificial intelligence. The brainstorming session also addressed future traffic congestion challenges, particularly considering the advent of modern technologies and self-driving cars.
Enhancing Readiness
In his opening remarks, Brigadier bin Yarouf highlighted Dubai Police’s commitment to maintaining constant readiness and facilitating the exchange of experiences, knowledge, and ideas to apply best practices and future foresight in event organisation. He emphasized the importance of the session’s recommendations in supporting all concerned sectors in managing and organising significant events.
Addressing Challenges
Colonel Issa Ahli underscored the session’s role in generating new ideas to tackle future challenges and support the efforts of all stakeholders. He noted the development of work mechanisms and methodologies, particularly in light of rapid technological and AI advancements, and mentioned that previous sessions had produced recommendations that enhanced event organisation tasks and elevated their standards.
Opportunities & Challenges
Colonel Hamdan Al Ghassieh emphasized the significance of bringing together various partners to discuss future opportunities and challenges amid fast-paced technological developments and AI. He pointed out the importance of brainstorming sessions in exchanging, developing, and nurturing innovative ideas.
Two Dialogue Sessions
The event featured two dialogue sessions moderated by Lieutenant Muhammad Issa Al Balushi. The first session, led by Mr. Saeed Al Falasi, focused on “Opportunities and Challenges in Future Technology and AI.” The second session addressed the “Future Plan for Traffic Congestion,” with Mr. Ahmad Jamee discussing the smart technologies used at the Dubai World Trade Centre for parking management. Mr. Ali Al Nuaimi from the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) highlighted the role of the RTA in enhancing traffic safety and its vision for the future, particularly regarding self-driving cars and modern technology.
The session underscored the importance of anticipating and keeping up with future technological advancements to improve event organisation and traffic management in Dubai.
