Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Police’s General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions has announced the schedule for remote video visits between inmates and their families during the upcoming Eid Al Adha holiday.
Acting Director General, Brigadier Salah Juma Bu Osaiba, extended Eid greetings to UAE citizens, residents, and visitors on behalf of the department. He confirmed that the remote video communication service will be available on the first and second days of Eid Al Adha from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The remote visitation system has been a success since its launch, enabling inmates to communicate with families both inside and outside the country. Due to this positive reception, Dubai Police has decided to continue providing the service during the Eid holidays.
Brigadier Bu Osaiba emphasized Dubai Police’s commitment to providing full logistical support to inmates, facilitating communication with their families through electronic devices in cooperation with the General Department of Artificial Intelligence.
To use the remote video service, an inmate’s family member must submit an electronic request through the Dubai Police smartphone app. They will then receive a text message with a link for the scheduled video call, which the inmate can join using electronic devices provided by the police.
The remote visitation system aims to strengthen family ties and support the rehabilitation process for inmates during their time in correctional facilities.
