Doha, Qatar – NextNorth Air Mobility, Lda, an airline renowned for its air taxi services, and FlyNow Aviation GmbH, a trailblazing developer of modular electric eCopters, have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic partnership aims to jointly advance Urban Air Mobility (UAM) solutions, with a particular focus on the Middle Eastern region.

The MoU is a direct result of fruitful discussions at the recent Autonomous e-Mobility (AEMOB) Forum, held from April 30 to May 02, 2024. The forum served as a pivotal platform for e-mobility stakeholders to explore collaborations and foster synergies to revolutionize urban transportation.

Collaborative Vision for UAM

NextNorth Air Mobility is not just an airline but a pioneer in designing, developing, and operating comprehensive UAM systems and technologies. Their goal is to reduce transportation friction and lead the Urban Air Mobility Industry with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft.

FlyNow Aviation, on the other hand, specializes in the development of efficient, automatically flying electric modular eCopters for both cargo and personal transport. Their eCopters are distinguished by their superior noise emission control, energy efficiency, ergonomics, and cost-effectiveness, with future plans for hydrogen-powered models.

Key Objectives of the MoU

The partnership between NextNorth and FlyNow focuses on exploring the introduction of cargo and passenger eVTOLs globally, with an emphasis on the Middle East. A lighthouse project will serve as the initial step, providing a real-world scenario to develop turnkey solutions. This collaboration will involve establishing a common understanding of future interactions between aircraft, air traffic management (ATM), UAM technology platforms, and infrastructure, working closely with regulators, service providers, and end-users of Urban Air Mobility.

CEO Insights

Gema Ferrero, CEO of NextNorth Air Mobility, expressed her enthusiasm: “This partnership marks a significant step forward in our mission to redefine urban transportation. By combining our expertise with FlyNow’s innovative eCopter technology, we are poised to make urban air mobility a reality, especially in the Middle East.”

Jürgen Greil, CEO of FlyNow Aviation, echoed this sentiment: “We are thrilled to partner with NextNorth to push the boundaries of urban air mobility. Our shared vision will drive the development of efficient, sustainable, and scalable UAM solutions, with a special focus on cargo applications.”

The collaboration between NextNorth Air Mobility and FlyNow Aviation heralds a new era in urban transportation, promising innovative and sustainable solutions for the future.
