Abu Dhabi, UAE – The prestigious IIFA Utsavam is set to honour Megastar Chiranjeevi with the Special Honor for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema’ during its global tour, which begins in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, this September. This recognition comes shortly after Chiranjeevi received the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award, from President Droupadi Murmu, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, for his invaluable contributions to Indian cinema and exceptional service.
Chiranjeevi’s illustrious career spans over four decades, during which he has captivated audiences with his diverse roles, energetic dance routines, and gripping fight sequences across various languages. Beyond his cinematic prowess, he is also nationally recognized for his philanthropic and humanitarian efforts.
In his response to the honour, Chiranjeevi expressed, “I’m deeply humbled by this incredible recognition and honour. Thank you, IIFA Utsavam, for bestowing upon me the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award. The IIFA Utsavam 2024, taking place on September 6th and 7th at Etihad Arena, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, is organized under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance & Coexistence. The event is held in partnership with The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and Miral, a leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences in Abu Dhabi.
IIFA Utsavam will celebrate the triumphs of South Indian cinema by uniting the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries, showcasing their rich talent, creativity, and storytelling. The two-day event will immerse audiences in diverse cinematic experiences: day one will focus on Tamil and Malayalam cinema, while day two will highlight Telugu and Kannada cinema.
